Roh Moo-Hyun verübt Selbstmord

Roh Moo-Hyun, von 2003 bis 2008 Präsident Südkoreas, hat sich heute morgen beim Bergwandern in der Nähe seines Heimatdorfes Gimhae von einem Felsen in den Tod gestürzt. Er hinterließ einen Abschiedsbrief. Vor einigen Woche war er von der Staatsanwaltschaft wegen Korruption stundenlang verhört wurden. Man warf ihm vor, er habe mehr als sechs Millionen Dollar von einem Geschäftsmann angenommen. Sein älterer Bruder wurde vor einer Woche zu 4 Jahren Haft verurteilt, weil er in der Amtszeit seines Bruders Bestechungsgelder angenommen habe.

I can't imagine the countless agonies down the road. The rest of my life would only be a burden for others. I can't do anything because I'm not healthy. I can't read books, nor can I write.

Don't be too sad. Isn't life and death all part of nature? Don't be sorry. Don't blame anybody. It's fate. Please cremate me. And please leave a small tombstone near home. I've long thought about that.

Roh Moo-Hyun war früher Anwalt für Menschenrechte und setzte sich in seiner Amtszeit für Transparenz und den Kampf gegen Korruption ein, gleichzeitig suchte er die Nähe zu Nordkorea. Er traf sich 2007 bei einem Gipfeltreffen mit Kim Jong-Il höchstpersönlich und führte die beschwichtigende Sonnenscheinpolitik seines Vorgängers fort. Auf Kritik gegenüber Nordkorea verzichtete er weitgehend, stattdessen unterstützte seine Regierung Nordkorea mit wirtschaftliche Hilfen.

LTTE lässt die Waffen schweigen - Frieden in Sri Lanka?

Frieden nach 25 Jahren blutiger Auseinandersetzungen: Die tamilischen Rebellen in Sri Lanka haben ihre Kampfhandlungen gegen die Regierungstruppen aufgegeben. Im Kampf zwischen den "Befreiungstigern" und Armee kamen mehr Menschen ums Leben als durch die Konflikte im Irak, in Afghanistan und im Gazastreifen zusammen.

Doch ob der seit 25 Jahren von Bürgerkrieg zerrüttelte Inselstaat nun endlich seinen Frieden findet, wird zu bezweifeln sein. Die LTTE nahm das Wort "Kapitulation" noch nicht in den Mund.
Dass die LTTE eine brutale Terrororganisation ist, die wie andere vergleichbare Gruppen Menschen als Schutzschilde missbraucht, steht außer Frage, aber auch das Vorgehen der Armee Sri Lankas ist alles andere als "human" gewesen. Mehr als 70.000 Menschen fanden im Kampf der LTTE für einen unabhängigen Tamilenstaat den Tod.

Bei Secrecy News (via OneFreeKorea) wurde eine übersichtliche Democratic People's Republic of Korea Leadership Chart (PDF) mit Namen und Bildern aller führender Persönlichkeiten Nordkoreas und eine DPRK Power Structure Chart (PDF) veröffentlicht. Und während den beiden US-Journalistinnen Ling und Lee bald in Nordkorea der Prozess gemacht werden soll, weigert sich Nordkorea mit den USA zu sprechen.

Schweine sind Juden und dürfen deshalb getötet werden

Nach der Verbreitung der Schweinegrippe, wurde jetzt in Ägypten eine Fatwa erlassen, die es erlaubt alle Schweine zu schlachten. Grund hierfür: Alle Schweine sind jüdischen Ursprungs und dürfen geschlachtet werden, da die Juden von Allah verflucht wurden. Jemand der daher Schweinefleisch esse, würde in Wirklichkeit einen unreinen Menschen essen - sprich: einen Juden.

Wieder einmal wird nicht nur der Irrsinn von Religion und besonders des Islam klar, sondern auch dessen Antisemitismus, der sich sogar in den lächerlichsten und skurrilsten Fatwas offenbart. Traurig, dass es Menschen gibt, die solche Fatwas ernst nehmen und der Gelehrte(!), der die Fatwa erlassen hat, nicht in ein Clownskostüm gesteckt wird und in einem Schweinestall hausen muss.

Krieg in Sri Lanka

Der Krieg in Sri Lanka tobt unerbittert weiter. Während Journalisten der Zugang zum Kriegsgebiet im Norden der Insel verwehrt wird, sterben dort Tag für Tag bei Artillerieangriffen Zivilisten.

Ein Artillerieangriff im srilankischen Kriegsgebiet hat nach Angaben eines Arztes mindestens 378 Zivilpersonen das Leben gekostet. Mehr als 1200 seien verletzt worden. Journalisten wurden nach einem Bericht über Flüchtlingslager ausgewiesen. NZZ

Dennoch sollte man den Angaben gegenüber skeptisch sein. Die LTTE selbst spricht inzwischen von mehr als 1200 Toten, während die Armee behauptet das Gebiet gar nicht angegriffen zu haben.

Israelis nach Hawaii!

Der 12-jährige Iraner Kourosh Mozouni will der neue iranische Präsident werden. Um gewählt zu werden hat er sich extra ein Wahlprogramm ausgedacht, welches wohl auch unter deutschen Wähler auf positive Resonanzen treffen dürfte. Unter anderem würde er Computerspiele verbieten und mit Obama darüber reden, ob Hawaii zum Verkauf stünde. Dorthin würde er dann alle Israelis schicken, sodass die Palästinenser endlich in Frieden leben könnten.

Das iranische Innenministerium lehnte seine Registrierung als Präsidentschaftskandidat ab, obwohl - und das erkennt man auf der Achse des Guten zu Recht - im Iran doch bereits 10-Jährige heiraten und 18-Jährige gehängt werden dürfen. Warum darf dann ein 12-Jähriger nicht Präsident werden? Der jetzige iranische Präsident benimmt sich doch sowieso schon wie ein pubertierender 12-Jähriger.

It wouldn’t be surprising then, that in a defiant act of rebellion, North Korea goes through with sentencing Lee and Ling to years in a North Korea work camp, all because the U.S. wasn’t giving it the acknowledgment it wanted.
