Impoverished North Korea is estimated to have spent US$300 million on its failed missile launch on Sunday, a Cheong Wa Dae said Sunday.
"Last summer, $300 million would have been enough to buy 1 million tons of rice since rice prices didn't rise," the official said. "It's more than enough to resolve the food shortage the North suffers every year."
